TORONTO — Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit Essex County where roads and basements are already flooded.
Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning on Friday for the southwestern Ontario communities. About 20 to 50 millimetres of rain is expected to fall across the region by the end of the day.

Essex County is still reeling from heavy rainfall that began Wednesday evening, breaking records in some towns.
Tecumseh, one of the hardest hit communities, has reported more than 150 millimetres of rain since then.
In some cases, Ontario Provincial Police said licence plates have dislodged while Tecumseh drivers were commuting through floodwaters on Thursday. Twenty plates found near Lesperance Road were turned in to police.
A special weather statement has also been issued for Chatham-Kent, where an extra 20 to 40 millimetres of rain is expected by Saturday morning.
According to Environment Canada, the unusual weather is caused by a low pressure system moving slowly over the Ohio Valley.
