Toronto police are investigating after a second teenage boy was stabbed near the Scarborough Town Centre mall within a 24-hour period.
Emergency crews were called to the YMCA Centre on Town Centre Court, west of McCowan Road, just after 8 p.m. Saturday after a large fight occurred.
A 17-year-old was taken to hospital in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.
Const. David Hopkinson said investigators are trying to determine where the stabbing occurred.
A spokesman for the YMCA of Greater Toronto said the agency is cooperating with police.
“The YMCA of Greater Toronto is always concerned with the safety and well-being of its members and staff,” public relations manager Antoine Tedesco wrote in a statement to Global News.
“With more than four million visits to our facilities, the YMCA continues to be a safe and welcoming place for young people.”

The incident happened shortly after friends and family gathered near the Scarborough Centre RT station to remember 15-year-old Kareem Deerr who was fatally stabbed during an altercation at the station’s bus platform Friday evening.
Hopkinson said investigations into both incidents are ongoing and it’s too early to say if the stabbings are connected.
