WINNIPEG – A group of six teens and two adults have been hit with 75 charges following a crime spree involving chains, knives and scissors.
Winnipeg police said between Sept. 15 and Sept. 20, the group broke into garages and cars at 13 homes along Pembina Highway between Bishop Grandin Boulevard and Killarney Avenue.
A part of that group then allegedly assaulted a 20 year-old near South Park Drive using scissors and a chain. His cell phone and ID were stolen.
The spree didn’t end there, a short time later police said a knife and chain were again used to rob an 18 year-old man.
Air-1 and a canine unit were called in after the victims phoned 911.
Six of the suspects were found on Aspen Point Forest.
Police then got a call about another robbery and the final two suspects were found.
75 charges have been laid including robbery, break and enter, possess weapon, fail to comply with recognizance and assault with a weapon.
None of the suspects are related but are all known to police.
The accused remain in custody.
