Paramedics said an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old were in hospital in stable condition.

The incident caused the school to go into lockdown. Two nearby elementary schools were briefly placed under a hold and secure order as a precaution.

Toronto police updated the media later in the afternoon and said an altercation occurred at a bus shelter by the school involving students.

A police canine unit helped locate a second scene at a nearby high-rise apartment, which police said contained undisclosed evidence.
