RCMP released a photo of a suspect in last week’s shooting at a Grande Prairie shopping mall that sent three people to hospital.
On Monday, police said an Alberta-wide arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Liban Musse in connection with the incident.
Mounties said a single shot was fired after a fight broke out between two groups of people at the Prairie Mall. They said one man was shot and flown to hospital in Edmonton with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and that the same bullet also grazed a couple who were walking by with their young children. They were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Prairie Mall was evacuated and put on lockdown immediately following the shooting.

“This was not random,” RCMP Supt. John Ferguson said Friday. “We feel that there was a connection between the victim and the person … we believe did this.”
Musse is now wanted on an Alberta-wide arrest warrant for six different charges: reckless discharge of a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.
A photo of Musse can be seen below. He is described as:
- 5’9″ and 143 pounds;
- Has short, dark black hair;
- Brown eyes.
Police are asking anyone with information about Musse or his whereabouts to come forward but warned citizens shouldn’t approach him as they consider him to be “armed and dangerous.”
