Stolen truck crashes on Burrows avenue leaving one person in serious condition

WINNIPEG — Two men are in custody after crashing a stolen vehicle Saturday morning.

Emergency personnel responded to the area of Burrows Avenue and Gilbert Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

Winnipeg Police Service said the two men were in a stolen Dodge Dakota speeding through and lost control of the car, which then rolled multiple times.

The 23-year-old driver is alleged to have been impaired during the single vehicle crash and sustained serious injuries, leaving him in unstable condition according to police.

He is facing charges of:

  • driving will ability impaired
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • fail to comply with probation order
  • fail to comply condition recognizance

The 22-year-old passenger was uninjured and is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Both men are in police custody.
