Peace Arch border crossing re-opened after police incident

The Peace Arch border crossing is open in both directions this morning after being closed down for hours Friday night.

Just after 6 p.m. Friday, the border crossing was shut down by Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA).

They called Surrey RCMP for back-up after a driver reportedly told police he had explosives in his car.

People wanting to cross the border were directed to the Pacific Highway crossing, causing lengthy line-ups and delays.

A spokesperson for CBSA says no explosives were found.

The border was re-opened in both directions a few hours later.
