For the second straight year, people will be gathering in Montreal for Recovery Day, a cross-country event that started in 2012.
This year’s event, taking place September 17, aims to start a conversation and end the stigma surrounding addiction recovery.
In cities across the country, recovering addicts will be standing up in unison to help drive progress in the community.
Senior Anchor Jamie Orchard sat down with organisers Patricia Ann Goldman and Kaitlin Sexton to discuss the event.
They were very pleased with last years Recovery Day, where not only did plenty of recovering addicts show up, but their whole families as well.
Montreal’s Recovery day will be held Saturday, September 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at Girouard Park in NDG. For more information on the event, visit www.recoverydaycanada.com.
