Edmonton public transit riders won’t have the choice of using the Metro Line this weekend.
The Metro LRT Line will be shutdown Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 for warranty work and regular maintenance before winter, according to the City of Edmonton.

To ease the hassle of the suspension, shuttle buses will run between Metro Line stations and downtown every 15 minutes, with buses running every seven to eight minutes for Saturday night’s Dolly Parton Concert at Rogers Place. Public transit users are still encouraged to plan ahead and give themselves extra time.
Regular bus service will run at transit centres and Capital Line trains will also run on schedule.
The Metro Line will resume service Monday.

The work on the Metro Line includes track guard rail repair, traction power cable work and MacEwan Station roof repairs. The maintenance work includes installing a glass rail at MacEwan station and window cleaning, as well as cleaning the tree canopy and installing a bird deterrent.
