Vancouver Police officer sent to hospital after responding to assault

A few hours after Vancouver Police were called to a sex assault near Robson and Burrad Street, officers were also called to an assault a block away.

Police were called to Robson and Seymour Street following reports someone had been assaulted.

It reportedly took eight officers and a Taser to subdue the subject who became violent. One of the officers broke his finger.

Both the officer and suspect were taken to hospital.

There is no word yet on why the man was arrested.
