A 33-year-old doctor has been charged after police say a woman was sexually assaulted at a medical clinic in Toronto’s financial district.
Toronto police responded to a report of a sexual assault at “MCI The Doctor’s Office” located in the underground PATH system at 200 Bay Street on Tuesday.
Police said a 48-year-old woman went to the clinic for medical treatment and was sexually assaulted by a doctor.
Dr. Khaled Hasan, 33, of Mississauga, Ont., was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of sexual assault.
Hasan is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19 to face the charges and police have released his photo out of concern there may be more alleged victims.
A doctor with the same name was listed on McMaster University’s website as a senior orthopedic surgery resident in 2013 and was profiled in the “Resident Spotlight” section as well as on the Canadian Arab Institute’s website.
The profiles said Khaled Hasan completed his undergraduate education in kinesiology at York University and graduated at the top of his class with honours, before finishing his medical training at the University of Toronto and serving as an instructor for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).
A spokesman for McMaster University said a student with the same name did graduate from the school, but could not confirm if they were the same person.
