2 Edmonton women charged with armed robbery, other crimes in Slave Lake

SLAVE LAKE, Alta. – A string of charges have been laid against two young women alleged to have committed a series of crimes in Slave Lake, Alta.

Mounties said it started when they received four complaints in less than 20 minutes about a black Dodge truck allegedly driving dangerously in and around the community.

That was followed by complaints about the armed robbery of a liquor store, a home invasion at gunpoint and several driving infractions.

Police tried to stop the vehicle at a truck stop but it sped away, only coming to a halt when it was driven down a dead-end road in an industrial area.

Janelle Layla Grey, 27, and Amanda Christine Harasym, 26, both of Edmonton, are charged with break and enter, robbery, pointing a firearm, using a disguise during the commission of an offence, multiple weapon offences, and flight from police.
