Some of the biggest names in men’s curling will be in Kelowna this December to take part in a major, five-day tournament.
The Canadian Open is part of the Grand Slam of Curling series and will feature the top 18 men’s teams in the world.

The event will take place at Prospera Place, which holds about 6,000 people, and will be televised nationally.
It will be the first major curling event the facility has ever hosted.
$100,000 in prize money is up for grabs and curlers are also competing for points for Olympic qualification.
Organizers say the Okanagan is a hot-bed of curling and they’re confident ticket sales will be good.
If the event is a success, the city may get more major curling competitions.
