Manitoba’s Labour Day march draws hundreds

WINNIPEG — Hundreds lined the streets of Winnipeg starting at Memorial Park Monday afternoon to take part in the annual labour march.

Organized by the Winnipeg’s Labour Council, the event saw marchers represented from hundreds of different unions.

“I’m a Manitoba teacher and proud to be unionized and part of the labour movement and trying to have awareness of all the achievements unions have done throughout the years,” said one marcher.

Another reiterated how Labour Day and the annual march is so important as it allows future generations to know where their rights came from.
