24-year-old man charged with attempted murder in Sunday shooting

Regina police have charged a 24-year-old male with attempted murder in connection to a shooting that happened at 85 Rootman Avenue last Sunday.

On Friday afternoon at 4:45 p.m., the suspect Adam Taniskishayinew was arrested at a home in a police standoff.

Police say they surrounded a home in the 1700 block of Winnipeg Street and negotiated with Taniskishayinew to come out.

Taniskishayinew is charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm and breach of probation.

His first court appearance is on Tuesday Sept. 6.
