A friendly match has been arranged between a Calgary Police men’s soccer team and a team of Syrians new to our city.
The game is happening in advance of the North American Police Soccer Tournament (NAPST) which runs Sept. 7 to 9 at the Calgary Rugby Union. The tournament brings more than 500 players to a different host city to raise funds for local charity.

The police team will play the Syrian Soccer Sons, a group of players who get together a few times a week to practice and play exhibition games.
The friendly match will take place Monday Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. at the Forest Lawn High School.
All of the money raised at the 37th annual tournament will go to the Calgary Police Foundation.
This is Calgary’s second time hosting the NAPST.
