Man charged in fatal Highway 16 crash near Langham, Sask. to plead not guilty

Robert Major plans to plead not guilty to numerous charges after he was charged last month in a fatal crash that killed his two sons and girlfriend.

The crash happened Feb. 22 on Highway 16 near Langham, Sask., when Major’s pickup truck collided with a semi pulling a trailer.

Police said there were seven people in the pickup at time of the crash.

A family friend identified the deceased as Major’s girlfriend, Kimberly Oliverio, 26, and his sons, Theodore Cardinal, 9, and Brenden Major, 4.

Two other boys and another man in the pickup survived with injuries, along with the semi driver.

Major, 33, faces 12 charges, including criminal negligence and dangerous driving causing death.

On Wednesday in provincial court, Major’s lawyer stated he will plead not guilty to the charges.

The matter will be back in court in October.
