CN to announce new rail facility in Winnipeg

CN Rail will announce Friday a “major” new facility to be built in Winnipeg.

The railway company sent a media advisory Wednesday titled “Training Centre Launch” in Transcona.

Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger and Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz will be at the announcement at 550 Pandora Ave. E. Friday at 11:00 am, along with CN corporate officials and union leaders. No word was immediately available on how much money will spent on the project or how many people it will employ.

CN’s Symington Yard in east Winnipeg is one of the railway’s three largest facilities in Canada.
