Man at large, woman arrested after stolen car chase in Saskatoon

A 19-year-old woman is facing a number of charges after evading Saskatoon police in a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m. CT, a patrol officer noticed a stolen vehicle being driven at 21 Street and Avenue P.

The man driving the car ran away when the officer attempted a traffic stop.

The woman passenger jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off down Avenue P and 11 Street West, police said. She eventually stopped the vehicle in the 3400-block of 11 Street West and was taken into custody.

The woman is now facing numerous charges including possession of stolen property, evading police, dangerous driving, breach of undertaking and was wanted on numerous Criminal Code warrants.
