Demolition work on the Bonaventure Expressway was going according to plan when the worker in question appeared to be momentarily distracted.

In the video, he briefly turns his back away as a structure is being torn down and looks to be rubbing his eyes and fiddling with his gloves, when a massive pillar starts swaying.
The worker eventually notices the rocking motion of the structure and lightning-fast, runs out of the way of the crumbling pilon.
Despite the close call, work on the expressway is on schedule and should be over by 5 a.m. Monday.
