Donald Trump caused a hailstorm of angry tweets to be lobbed his way when he responded on Twitter to the death of NBA star Dwyane Wade’s cousin.
On Friday, Wade issued a tweet in which he said his cousin was shot and killed in Chicago.
Wade’s cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was pushing her baby in a stroller near a Chicago school where she intended to register her children when she was fatally shot Friday, according to the Associated Press.
Trump sent out a tweet Saturday morning, which read “Dwyane Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!”
Initially, Trump misspelled Wade’s name before he re-issued the tweet with a correction.
Actor Don Cheadle slammed Donald Trump Saturday, calling out Trump for politicizing the death of Nykea Aldridge, the cousin of Wade.
Cheadle went off on a Twitter rant which began with “You are truly a POS.”
Later, Trump issued a tweet of condolences to Wade.
Other celebrities also expressed their opinions on the social media outlet.
