Police find 260 marijuana plants in burning building near Peterborough, Ont.

HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN TOWNSHIP, Ont. – Police say they found about 260 marijuana plants in a burning building Wednesday evening.

They say Ontario Provincial Police were called to the fire in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township, Ont., east of Peterborough, around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

They allege they found a grow-op inside the building.

Investigators say 55-year-old Joseph Tassone has been charged with producing marijuana.

He’s scheduled to appear in court next month.
