Truck driver busted at border with 15 kilograms of ‘suspected cocaine’

A commercial truck driver was busted at the Kingsgate border crossing in the East Kootenay with 15 bricks of a white, powdered substance, believed to be cocaine.

Border service officers were doing a commercial examination of the vehicle, when the found the packages between pallets of cargo.

The packages were seized, and the driver of the truck was turned over to the R.C.M.P.

Between 2011 and 2015, there have been over 150 illegal narcotic seizures at the Kingsgate port of entry.
