Late Monday afternoon, Environment Canada confirmed a tornado did in fact touch down northeast of Edson, Alta. over the weekend.
According to the weather agency, the twister touched down 30 kilometres northeast of Edson at 8:58 p.m. Sunday and resulted in trees being damaged.

Environment Canada has given the tornado a preliminary rating of EF 0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale which means it’s believed the twister packed estimated wind speeds of 105 to 137 km/h. An EF 0 tornado generally results in very little, if any, damage.
Sunday, a tornado warning was issued for parts of Yellowhead County near Peers and Niton Junction.
Meteorologists with Environment Canada are still looking for photos of the tornado and any damage it may have caused. People with photos or information are being asked to call 1-800-239-0484 or send an email to storm@ec.gc.ca.
