Regina man charged in connection with threatening five people with a machete

A 20-year-old Regina man is facing an assault charge after five people were threatened with a machete, police say.

At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 19, police were called to the 2700 block of Winnipeg Street for a man who was armed with a machete and was threatening five people.

According to police, officers found a 20-year-old man who had been striking an exterior wall of the residence with a machete.

Alexander Leigh Taylor, 20, of Regina, has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.

Taylor appeared in provincial court in Regina Monday morning.
