Petrin appeared in court today and now faces two new charges – possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and escaping lawful custody.

Those charges have now been adjourned to Oct. 6, but he’ll be back in court before then.

Petrin’s first-degree murder trial in the death of Lorry Santos is set to begin Sept. 12.

That is four years to the day the Saskatoon mother of four was fatally shot when answering the door after police say gunmen went to the wrong house.
