Lisa Marie Presley enters rehab for prescription pill addiction
Presley entered rehab to get a handle on her addiction, which allegedly became more severe during her current divorce from her fourth husband, musician Michael Lockwood.
Multiple reports suggest the 48-year-old singer has checked into the exclusive and luxurious Hills Treatment Centre in Los Angeles, which charges $400,000 a month.
Presley has spoken candidly about her challenges with substance abuse in the past.
In 2003 she told Paper Magazine: “[I used] cocaine, sedatives, pot and drinking — all at the same time. I just couldn’t be sober… I don’t know how I lived through it.”
A source reportedly told Us that Presley is now fighting an addiction to painkillers: “She’s doing OK, but needed to get this under control.”
Elvis Presley died at age 42 in 1977 following years of drug and alcohol abuse.
