WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority’s (WHRA) Spinal Cord Injury Program was honoured on Wednesday by the Rick Hansen Institute for exemplary achievement in meeting dual accreditation standards for both acute and rehab care. The standards were set by the Rick Hansen Institute as well as Accreditation Canada.
The program, located at HSC Winnipeg, is the only one of its kind in Manitoba.

“The recent WHRA-wide accreditation in the spring of 2016 is the first time the Manitoba program has been reviewed under these new comprehensive and evidence-based standards for spinal cord injury care,” said Real Cloutier, Chief Operating Officer of the WRHA.
“This exemplary program and the dedicated people who shape and deliver it reflect the mission and vision of our organization and represent best practice in innovation-integrated and sustainable healthcare delivery.”
Established in 2007, the Rick Hansen Institute is a Canadian-based not-for-profit organization committed to accelerating the translation of discoveries and best practices into improved treatments for people with spinal cord injuries.
