Hopkins said “We want to extend our deepest condolences to the individual’s family. Safety is our top priority, and we are working closely with local law enforcement agencies to investigate this incident.”

Paramedics said he was declared dead at the scene.

Police weren’t immediately sure of the circumstances of the man’s death. His name has not been released.

They said the force’s motor-collision bureau and the Ministry of Labour is investigating.
