White Butte RCMP have confirmed the time when former deputy premier Don McMorris was charged with impaired driving.
Police said on Friday morning, just after 11:30 a.m. CT, a Saskatchewan RCMP officer pulled over the former cabinet minister.
The check happened on Highway 1 near White City, at the intersection of Highway 48.

McMorris spoke to reporters Saturday morning, explaining his resignation from cabinet and caucus. He said he was heading home from the lake near Fort Qu’Appelle.
“I have no words to describe how sorry I am, to my family, my colleagues and people and to the people of the province for my actions, completely unacceptable,” he said.
“One incident is too many, and I’m that one incident.”
Regina Mayor Michael Fougere said the news came as a shock.
“I’m surprised. I’ve known Don for quite some time. He’s an ethical individual, strong individual and great MLA, and great cabinet minister,” Fougere said.
“I think he’s taken responsibility for his actions … You never want to see anyone in that circumstance ever. I wish him well in his future.”
RCMP say no one else was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. They are not releasing his blood alcohol content at the time of the arrest.
McMorris is scheduled to appear in provincial court Sept 7.
