Gymnast Ellie Black is competing in qualifying rounds Sunday at the Rio Olympics.
Twenty-year-old Black is competing in qualifiers for floor, vault, uneven bars, beam, and the individual all-around category.
There are high hopes for Black after she won three gold medals, as well as a silver and a bronze at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto.

Black also had a historic performance at the 2015 FIG World Championships, finishing seventh in the women’s individual all around for Canada’s best-ever result in the event.
She made her Olympic debut in 2012 in London when she was just 16 years old. She did not reach the podium in London.
However she helped lead Canada to a best, fifth-place finish in the team event.

Competition for artistic gymnastics is already underway in Rio; Black starts competing Sunday evening.
