Man jumps from Saskatoon’s Sid Buckwold Bridge

A man is in a Saskatoon hospital with life-threatening injuries after he jumped from the Sid Buckwold Bridge.

It happened Friday at around 10 a.m. CT.

Police said they received calls that a man was standing on the ledge of the bridge.

The callers then witnessed the man jump into South Saskatchewan River.

The southbound lanes of the bridge were closed while police and emergency crews responded. Those restrictions have since been lifted.

No other details have been released at this time.
