Man faces 2nd-degree murder charge in death of Brampton senior

A 57-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder following the stabbing death of an 82-year-old man in Brampton Wednesday afternoon.

Peel police were called to a residence in the area of Fleetwood Crescent and Clark Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. and found the victim, identified as Michael Narine, in life-threatening condition. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The accused, identified as Gregory Narine, was taken into custody on Wednesday and police said there are no other suspects.

Police have not released the relationship between the suspect and the victim.

Narine is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
