“Madison Potts, a happy, fun-loving and innocent six-year-old girl was taken from our family too soon due to accidental drowning,” reads a post on the family’s GoFundMe page. “Madison is survived by both her parents, and her two-year-old little brother as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.”

Family said money raised by the GoFundMe donations would go towards paying for a funeral.

Lethbridge police said the death is not believed to be suspicious in nature.

Emergency crews were called to a home in the city’s south end just after 5 p.m. on Monday. She was rushed to hospital in cardiac arrest and later died.
