‘PokeCop gets them all!’ a warning to drivers playing Pokemon Go

Vancouver Police warn drivers not to ‘Pokemon and drive’ after issuing six tickets in just two days to people playing behind the wheel.

VPD’s Tweet reads “#PokemonGo is everywhere…but when you’re driving, it’s #PokemoNo!”

Vancouver’s traffic unit also took its plea to social media, saying ‘PokeCop’ will catch all distracted drivers playing the game.

This is not the first time the VPD has had to remind players to be safe while using the app – just earlier this month they had to release safety tips for players.

Some of which included asking players to be aware of their surroundings and to not play and drive.

Now that new driving penalties are in effect, tickets can cost distracted drivers a minimum of $543 when caught.
