Property sales boost B.C. budget

WATCH: Revenues for the B.C. government see a major spike, thanks to Metro Vancouver's red hot realty market. Keith Baldrey has more on the impact of the property transfer tax – Jul 21, 2016

The British Columbia government has posted a surplus of more than double what was predicted in the last provincial budget in its final public accounting of the year.

The bottom line was helped along by $468 million in property transfer tax revenues and Finance Minister Mike de Jong says housing sales also helped provincial growth at three per cent.
