The City of Vancouver has launched an online survey as part of their consultation process on short-term rentals.
This comes after a report by a third-party firm showed more than 5,000 short-term rentals were listed in 2015 on sites such as Airbnb and HomeAway.
The survey asks residents – among other things – if short-term rentals make Vancouver a more appealing tourist destination, or if it makes it harder for people to find quality and affordable long-term rentals.

The city’s website says information collected will help shape policy moving forward.
“City Council has asked staff to review current rental regulations and look for ways to allow short-term rentals that balance the needs of residents, businesses and other stakeholders,” reads the website.
The survey will be open online until Aug 3.
