A number of neighbourhoods in Toronto remain without power Thursday morning following an overnight storm which also brought down trees across the city.
Toronto Hydro is reporting an outage for customers in west-end Toronto near the area bordered by The West Mall, Princess Margaret, Highway 427 and Kipling.
Residents in the Martin Grove, Islington, Eglinton and Dixon area are also without electricity. The utility company has dispatched crews to the scene but don’t have a timeline when power will be fully restored.
Power was also out for several hours at an apartment building on Jane Street north of Sheppard Avenue due to an utility pole fire but electricity returned shortly after 7 a.m.
Earlier in the evening, a quick-moving thunderstorm system brought down branches and trees across the city.
A large tree was down across Baby Point Road near the Jane and Dundas area and another one landed on a pick-up truck near Symington and Davenport. No injuries were reported.
