Winnipeg police seek man in connection to groping, sexual assaults in downtown

WINNIPEG — Police have released surveillance photos of a suspect in an alleged sexual assault and possibly a number of groping and indecent acts in downtown Winnipeg.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of Portage Avenue where a 46-year-old woman had been attacked.

The victim saw a man performing an indecent act and when she said she was calling police, the suspect allegedly assaulted her. He then fled the scene.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.

A string of groping incidents and indecent acts followed in the same area, police believe the same suspect could be involved.

The man is described as between 20 to 25 years old with short black hair, roughly six feet tall with a skinny build. he was wearing a grey tank top, black and white shorts with black and white runners and baseball cap.
