Stolen vehicle used to break into Kelowna liquor store

RCMP say they’ve recovered a heavily damaged stolen vehicle that was used to break into a Kelowna liquor store over the weekend.

On Saturday, around 6 a.m., police responded to a break and enter at the Reids Corner Liquor Store on Highway 97 North.

They found a grey Volkswagen Jetta, believed to have been stolen overnight from Ethel Street, had been used to smash into the store to gain entry.

A wall safe was stolen which was later loaded into a late 1990’s Dodge Ram pickup truck.

RCMP say there are two suspects.

One man is described as:

  • 6 feet tall
  • Thin build
  • Wearing gloves, a light coloured hoodie, jeans and running shoes

The other is described as:

  • 6 feet tall
  • Wearing darker clothing with gloves and a hoodie.

RCMP are asking anyone with information to call the Kelowna RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
