Two hikers were rescued in separate incidents off two different mountains in what proved to be a busy night for North Shore search and rescue crews.

North Shore Rescue located a woman lost on Mount Fromme Friday afternoon and walked her back to safety.

“She was lost in the forest and it was starting to get dark so she got quite scared and luckily for us, she was able to make the 911 call and she stayed where she was and we were able to locate her,” Doug Pope of North Shore Rescue said.

Later that day, a man lost his way on Mount Seymour and had to be airlifted to safety.

Rescue crews say neither of the hikers were prepared for the conditions.

North Shore Rescue is reminding the public not to hike alone. If a hiker does venture into the mountains by themselves, they should make sure they are fully prepared.
