WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police are on scene of what appears to be a fatal collision involving a cyclist.

The collision happened around 3:30 pm on Wharton Blvd. and Hamilton Ave. in the Sturgeon Creek neighborhood.

Officers say a man riding a bike was struck by a car.  The condition of the cyclist was not known but it appears to be a fatal.

A bicycle can be seen laying on the curb.  A heavy piece of machinery also remains on scene although it’s not clear if it’s involved.

Police have blocked of several neighboring streets.
