Starving, dehydrated and barely able to walk, three baby raccoons were rescued from a Kelowna backyard last week.

The homeowner brought them to Rose Valley Veterinary Hospital, where staff there nursed the trio back to health.
“We brought them to life,” said veterinarian Dr. Moshe Oz.
But the biggest concern from the start was if simply nourishing them back to health would be enough. Who would care for them and who would help with the rehabilitation process?
Now, a B.C. wildlife centre has agreed to do just that. The tree raccoons were transported from the West Kelowna vet clinic Thursday to their new home.
“It’s a happy tear,” said veterinarian staffer Nicole St. Arnault. “You know you put a lot of work into it and it’s great to see them go.”
The staff at the pet hospital hope this isn’t goodbye for good. They’re planning on visiting the raccoons once they’re all settled.
