High-risk sex offender residing in Prince Albert, Sask.

Police are advising the public of 33-year-old James Peter McKnight who was released from custody yesterday and now resides in Prince Albert. 

McKnight is considered a high risk to reoffend and has a history of exposing himself to and masturbating in view of both male and female children in public. 

McKnight must adhere to the following prohibitions:  

Until December 15, 2012, an Alberta Probation Order prohibits him from attending West Edmonton Mall or any residence with unsupervised children under 16-years-old. He is not allowed to enter into any personal relationship with a mother of a child under 16-years-old. 

Under a Saskatchewan Probation Order, in effect until June 8th, 2015, his residence, employment and counseling are to be directed under his probation officer.

The Provincial Court of Saskatchewan will prohibit McKnight until June 10, 2021. Prohibitions inhibit him from attending, working or volunteering anywhere persons under 16-years-old are present or can reasonably be expected to be present.

Using a computer system for the purpose of communicating with a person under 16-years-old is also enforced for the provincial court. 

These conditions and prohibitions are a result of previous convictions for exposing himself and are in effect anywhere in Canada. 

Prince Albert police urge the public to take preventative measures and not to embark on any form of vigilantism or other unreasonable conduct towards McKnight. 

James has previously lived in Saskatoon.
