The family of a young Edmonton girl with Down Syndrome is pleading with whomever stole a crucial mode of summer transportation for her to give it back.

Jennifer Lewin said a specialized bicycle trailer called a wike was stolen from the family’s Beverly Heights backyard on Tuesday.

Lewin said her nine-year-old daughter Vienna uses it all summer to enjoy the outdoors.

“We try to make sure we provide as many childhood experiences for her like we would for any child and that was kind of her way of riding a bike,” Lewin said. “She would sit in it and my husband would pull her around the park and she enjoyed it.”
