The same New Zealand police dance crew that issued the original #RunningManChallenge hit the dance floor again at the Hip Hop Unite national championships in Wellington on Saturday.

Making a surprise appearance at the competition, the police officers first appeared to be called to the stage to retrieve what the MC said was a lost wallet.

The music came on and the officers got into formation to pop, lock and twerk to Apache (Jump on It) by The Sugarhill Gang and Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake.

They even used props and some serious breakdancing moves, ending their routine with one officer doing a head spin.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said: “Our performance allowed us to positively engage with youth who were present and let aspiring recruits know that all sorts of people work at NZ Police, including people with a love of hip hop music and dance.”
