A Fortis BC. outage wiped out power to about 20,000 customers in Kelowna on Sunday.
“It was shortly before 7 p.m. when our control centre identified an outage to about 20,000 customers in the Saucier to Hollywood Road areas,” spokesperson Michael Allison said.
Allison said by 8p.m., power to all but about 1,100 customers had been restored.
He said the outage was caused by a branch on a transmission line.
“Crews did patrol the line and they did identify a branch on the line,” spokesperson Michael Allison said.
Allison said power to the remaining customers will be restored before 11 p.m.
