PENTICTON – The Mounties in Penticton got more than they expected while serving a court document on a man.
Members of the Targeted Enforcement Unit were talking to the man at a Penticton Avenue residence when they saw Natasha Patrice Clifton leave the home.
She was arrested for breaching a court order to not be in Penticton.
Police say Clifton was carrying a knife contrary to another court order and a search of her allegedly turned up heroin and methamphetamine packaged for sale.
When RCMP later returned to the residence with a search warrant officers seized more of the same two drugs as well as prescription medicine.
Jennifer Leanne Montgomery, 30, was arrested.
“I am encouraged by the success of our Targeted Enforcement Unit in this case,” said Superintendent Kevin Hewco in a news release. “All drug dealers in this community should be nervous that TEU will be on their doorstep next.”
The two women are charged with several drug and breach offenses and are being held in custody pending a court appearance Wednesday.
