The pit bull that attacked a woman in Surrey earlier this week has been located and put down by Surrey Animal Control Officers.
Surrey RCMP say there will be no charges against the pit bull’s owner, who was remorseful and crying when he was found.
A 65-year-old woman, Brenda Moon, was in a convenience store when she was attacked, unprovoked, by an unleashed grey and white pit bull dog.
“He had me in his mouth and was shaking me…and then he dragged me,” said Moon, adding that the dog’s bite was so strong it broke the bones in her right arm.

The dog’s owner then left the store, necessitating a search by police.
The incident sparked a renewed interest in Surrey on whether pit bulls should be banned.
Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner said she is seeking input from the public before city council meets Monday.
“I’m just interested in taking the pulse of the public on that and taking a look at what we could do to further strengthen our animal control bylaw,” Hepner said.
