It’s time to don your best attire!
The Earl and Countess of Wessex arrived in the Queen City Wednesday.
Prince Edward has been here many times before but this will be the first visit for his wife Sophie.

The pair landed in Winnipeg in the morning where they toured the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada and met privately with Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister.
Later in the afternoon, the Royal couple arrived to airport fanfare in Regina.
The Countess of Wessex was presented with flowers as she and her husband touched down at Regina’s Aerocentre.
Prince Edward inspected the Quarter Guard, made up of members of Moose Jaw’s Saskatchewan Dragoons.
Later, their Royal Highnesses arrived at a red carpet at the Conexus Arts Centre, taking part in the Globe Theatre’s 50th year anniversary.
“When at the beginning we thought we’d get maybe five years, it’s pretty remarkable,” Globe Theatre’s founding artistic director Ken Kramer remembered.
“It’s just exciting all around.”
The Royal couple met with provincial dignitaries including Premier Brad Wall.
“I think we’re reminded when members of the Royal Family come for a visit, just how important the ties are to the Commonwealth and the democracy it represents,” Wall explained.
Inside the centre, Prince Edward charmed the crowd as he delivered a Royal address.
“There’s probably half of you thinking, ‘is it really 50 years?’ And the other half thinking, ‘already 50 years?'” he said.
The Earl of Wessex acknowledged the accomplishments of the Globe Theatre and also recognized the people.
“With all anniversaries, these are opportunities to reflect on the journey and how far the theatre has come,” he said.
“As with all the creative arts, and most especially the theatre, it is of course about people. The theatre is people.”
Their Royal Highnesses will be in Regina for a total of three days. On Thursday, Prince Edward and Sophie will be touring the RCMP Heritage Centre and attending the Government House’s 125th year anniversary celebrations.
